There are no cars in The Sim4 and the possibility of adding cars to the game in the future is discussed in this post. Many people agree that there should be premade cars and other vehicles that players can use as décor.
The Sims 4 doesn't have cars because players want the game to be as close to real-life as possible.
The Sims 4 has content planned through 2021, but the game turns 7 this year. It is old for all intents and purposes. It's not a bad thing, but it means that the developer may focus on other projects, like The Sims 5, instead of The Sims 4.
If The Sims 4 was designed to have usable cars, there would probably still be a taxi interaction that shows the vehicle picking up the Sim and driving away, like in The Sims 2.
Cars in The Sims 2 were not eye candy. There is a long way for cars to drive in The Sims 4 if they pulled out of the car in The Sims 2. It would be easy for them to drive off.
Cars in Sims 3 was better than Sims 4. I don't see why we should have vehicles when we will only get a car that will sit in the drive way or garage and disappear once the Sims gets in it to go somewhere.
It looks like the lots are smaller on average so you would have to sacrifice a lot of living space in order to accommodate a driveway or garage. Sims having cars will not be as fun as you think.
While watching your Sims drive for five seconds and then disappear off the lot is not much fun, cars that come with the game are a whole different story. Sims are able to fix broken cars, modify vehicles for racing, and so on.
If you can't see the sim drive the car, the point of adding cars is lost.
Is the Sims 5 coming out in 2022?
Millions of fans worldwide were abuzz with excitement when it was announced that The Sims 5 was in development. And for good reason.

There are no surprises in-store for The Sims 4 players this Christmas, but what about 2022. We might be getting an announcement.

We can only speculate as to what the next generation of The Sims holds for us, since there are currently no The Sims 5 trailers.
