How do I install MediaWiki extensions?
MediaWiki has some extensions. You can choose which ones to enable during the installation of MediaWiki. All of them are disabled by default. You can enable/disable them at any time after the installation is complete.
Almost all MediaWiki installations have at least a few extensions.
Composer is used for installing packages. It can be used to install MediaWiki extensions. Composer can be used to upgrade extensions installed with it.
The name of the extension has to be replaced with the name of the main file of the extension in the folder. All extensions are located in the MediaWiki directory. If we use the example with the extension from the previous section, the line will look like: require_once
The extensions directory on the account should contain the files of the extension. If your MediaWiki is installed directly in the public_html directory on the account, you can create a folder Breadcrumbs in public_html/extensions and put the content of the extension in it.
The main PHP file for every extension is labeled with the name of the extension, and should be found inside the BreadCrumbs folder. When you enable the extension, you will need the name of the folder and the main file.
You can install all of the extensions in one go if you don't specify the package name. Extensions that are already installed will be upgraded.
There are two ways to download MediaWiki: as a tarball or a single archive file.
